Technical Project Manager


Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire

The Technical Project Manager will manage the processes, systems and team responsible for the creation of web and software solutions across My Clever Group. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will manage a wide range of technical projects for internal and client facing work.

About you

Our ideal candidate will have extensive project management experience within a technology/digital background. As a line manager to a team of Senior Developers, an understanding of programming languages and experience of hands on web/software development is essential to ensure best approach, in terms of time and productivity, for each project. You will be experienced in delivering technical projects with an extensive understanding of the software development lifecycle. Your knowledge will extend to many project management methodologies, so you can adapt the best approach to suit each individual project. You’ll be a confident communicator, comfortable presenting and challenging Senior Management when required. You’ll have a problem-solving mind-set, be comfortable working in a fast pace environment, delivering multiple projects to budget and on or ahead of schedule.

Key Accountabilities and responsibilities of role:

  • Line manage a team of Senior Developers
  • Work collaboratively across departments to ensure that all output is produced on time, to budget and to a high standard
  • Proactively contribute to the completion of allocated development work
  • Work with the Scheduler to ensure correct prioritisation of tasks, projects, change requests and issues against company deliverables
  • Ensuring strict control of client information and data such that it is utilised as required for a project but not accidentally shared across projects
  • Lead a team of developers to ensure all client delivery is best in class and user experience
  • Ensure all releases meet and pass QA on customer specified devices/browsers
  • Contribute to weekly meetings with the Scheduler and provide regular updates to key stakeholders
  • Work alongside Chief Technology Officer and Head of Learning to ensure all technical based staff are trained to a high standard, with opportunities to learn and practise the latest technologies
  • Support a team of developers with queries and challenges
  • Provide solutions and contribute ideas to overcome technical issues
  • Ensure technical standards are followed
