Digital Content Writer



Salary: £25,000-£35,000

This role works across a full range of learning solutions such as eLearning courses, trainer and learner guides, workbooks and resource material, as well as marketing copy where you will be responsible for developing creative solutions for a growing portfolio of online learning projects.Working within the content team, you’ll play a key part at every stage of the production process – from ideation to delivery. This is a content writing, storyboarding and instructional design role and requires strong communication, visualisation and writing skills. You’ll be confident in researching a diverse range of subjects and translating this into content that is readily understood by our customers and users, all whilst maintaining the client’s brand/tone. Importantly you’ll be working to deadlines and within allocated project budgets. You’ll be working on industry-leading content that makes a real difference within organisations and delivers tangible results and change.

Key Accountabilities and responsibilities of role:
• Attend ideation sessions with Creative team and feed into client level proposals
• Developing learning objectives, writing content to deliver these
• Attend product training where necessary
• Digest project briefs and research diverse subjects
• Research latest trends and developments in our markets
• Generate innovative and original ideas, visualising content using fresh and exciting scripting techniques
• Conceive and write scripts/content for eLearning courses with delivery techniques in mind
• Conceive and write scripts/content for animations & films (including voiceover & dialogue)
• Evaluating the effectiveness of courses and materials
• Conceive and write case study and news content for company website and social networks
• Ensure all scripts are loyal to the brief and the relevant brand/tone
• Attend storyboarding sessions to feed creative concepts with designer team
• Work with Project Managers to ensure all scripts and content are delivered on-time and in budget
• Work closely with creative department to help bring concepts to completion
• Working in other areas of Marketing as and when required such assistance with campaigns on a wider level and creative work
• Complete accurate work-time logs

Required Skills:
• An impressive portfolio of content writing on various subjects including technical – this is non-negotiable
• 2-3 years’ experience in learning content creation
• Knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
• Visual design skills and ability to storyboard educational content
• Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts
• Outstanding time management skills and ability to work to deadlines
• Exceptionally strong written/verbal communication skills complimented by outstanding
• grammar and punctuation
• The ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively
• The ability to adapt to different writing styles for varying types of copy
• Competencies in the usual Microsoft programs; Word, Excel, etc
• An understanding of how to format and structure production scripts would be helpful
• Understanding of delivery/performance (you’ll be scripting for external voice over artists and actors)

Standard Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 1/2 hours between 8am and 6pm
